Italy, 1959. An anonymous businessman from Bolzano (Northern Italy) named Walter Bertolazzi, a passionate fan of the cinema, dives head-first into an incredible adventure: transforming Lake Garda in northern Italy into the Caribbean Sea with all of its galleys of fierce pirates. To this end, he had a real galley transported up from Rome, and so began the realization of Bertolazzi’s dreams and those of his successors through the subsequent creation of a series of immensely popular films. It was in this way that Bertolazzi Film was born, and with it, a new cinematic genre.
